When I say science-based strength, I dont mean we are standing around quoting studies in the middle of class.

Your body adapts to what you practice. If you practice good reps, strong positions, and repeatable movement, you get stronger on a better foundation. If you practice rushing, yanking, leaking energy, and living in bad positions, then youre just getting better at moving bad.
That might still feel hard. It might still make you tired. But it’s not the same thing as training well.

That is what evidence-based coaching is really about. Not making things robotic. Not making lifting boring. Just understanding that better movement usually leads to better results.

Olympic weightlifting is not just aggression
A lot of people look at Olympic lifts and think they are all power and speed.
They are power and speed. But they are also skill.
The snatch and clean and jerk reward people who can stay in good positions, keep the bar close, be patient when they need to, and move fast when the time comes. If your setup is off, the lift is harder. If your bar path is off, the lift is harder. If you dont know how to receive the bar in a solid position, the lift is harder.
So when somebody makes a lift look smooth, it usually isnt because they are just tougher than everyone else.
Its because they practiced the basics. A lot.
That is why good Olympic weightlifting programs spend so much time on pauses, drills, tempo work, footwork, positions, pulls, and all the little pieces that most people want to skip.
Because those little pieces are what make the big lifts happen.

Honestly, maybe more than anybody.
A lot of people looking for CrossFit for beginners are nervous about weightlifting. They think everybody else already knows what they are doing. They think they need to get in shape first. Or that they have to already know the lifts before they walk into a gym.
You dont.
Beginners need good coaching, not perfection.
