When did you first start CrossFitting?

2 years ago – a New Years resolution customer.

When did you first start training at BWCF?

Mid-March 2015

Favorite WOD:

The ascending clean & run, followed by max clean.

Least Favorite WOD:

Anything with 25 double unders or greater!

What is your sport and fitness background?

My work friends told me about a P90X class they wanted me to attend. My face was ash-gray 15 minutes into it! We continued with DVDs for quite a while. I only participated in Jr high sports.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD…what was it, and how did it feel?

The DVD repetition burned us out after a few months, and as a class we joined CrossFit. The first WOD was Cindy? 5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 squats…repeat. I was so embarrassed as my workout ground to a halt…

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit? (before/after)

I waddle more! My legs have gotten quite big as my back squats have gone from 150 to 300+. The first time I hopped/jumped into the back of my truck let me know how far I have come. Women now follow me around, which is a hassle, but you take the good with the bad!

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?

I can say yes! more to friends who want to something physical, like riding a bike 75 miles with no additional training, or completing a tough mudder easily

Share with us any favorite CrossFit/BayWay CrossFit moments?

Flying off the bar during a toes to bar set. Skillfully, cat-like, I landed on my 300+ rated butt cheek and was good to go. No wait! The bar run along Bayway, starting and stopping at CrossFit was a hellofa good time!

Any advice for people just getting started?

Don’t be a showoff: check your ego at the door! Why do people go full throttle, just to get burned out? I’m doing CrossFit for general health so I have the rest of my life to get better.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

I like to work on my house in Beaumont. I’m currently working on the wood floor in the hallway, year two.
