What is your sport and fitness background?

I played baseball, basketball and ran cross country in high school. After that I went on to play two years of baseball in college. When I first started CrossFit I was training for a marathon. Which I completed in Dec 2013.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD…what was it, and how did it feel?

The first WOD I ever did had was a WOD that contained Power Snatches and a 400m Run for multiple rounds for time. I thought I would breeze through it considering how much I was running I was doing. I was wrong. I struggled to finish, and was hooked from there.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit? (before/after)

Before I started running I had developed a pretty big beer gut. One day I bent down to tie my shoe and when I stood up I realized I was out of breath. At that point I new I needed to change. So I started running and that helped me lose some weight, but then I found CrossFit. It helped me add some muscle I hadn’t had in awhile, and allowed my competitive side to come out again.  Also as an added bonus it was something different. CrossFit workouts are constantly different while running is always the same.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?

I got my two best friends P-DOGG and K-DOGG. Also, I have grown to appreciate rap music.

Share with us any favorite CrossFit/BayWay CrossFit moments?

All the PR’s (Personal Records). I love seeing people who are excited when they realize they are way stronger than they were before.

Any advice for people just getting started?

You get what you put into it. The results will come if you give everything you can everyday.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

Running and Floating the river any chance I get.
