Tell us about your sports & fitness background?

I did gymnastics for 12 years, swim team for 8 and dance for 4. Took a hiatus from the gym for awhile when I was in college and then started CrossFit a little after I started teaching.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD…what was it, and how did it feel?

My mom and I signed up to do a tough mudder and decided we needed to workout before so we didn’t die lol. She and her BFF had been there a couple of times before so we decided to drop in one day. Dropped in and loved it! I have no idea what my first wod was…that was way too long ago!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?

I have a lot more energy, I’m more toned, and I pay more attention to what I’m eating because it fuels my workouts.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were unexpected?

Being a first-grade teacher, there’s a lot of stress that comes with it. Doing CrossFit at the end of the day has been a great stress reliever for me. It’s also shown me how to be accountable for myself. I used to just eat whatever and workout and saw zero results. Once I started holding myself accountable for what I was eating, my workouts got better, and my everyday life improved too. The junk I was eating was making me sluggish and tired all the time. That doesn’t happen anymore!

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit/BayWay CrossFit moments?

I think one of my favorites was the “Field Day” event that we had a couple of summers ago and finally being able to string my T2B together!!

Any advice for people just getting started?

Don’t quit! I’m not going to tell that it gets easier because it doesn’t lol. You won’t see results after a week either. It’s a process, but it’s totally worth it! Oh and don’t be nervous! Everyone was new once. I had no clue what I was doing when I started, but the coaches are awesome at breaking everything down for you!

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

Reading and trying to keep up with my two bonus kids lol!!!
